Back in 2019, we met up for a beer after a gig. The conversation strayed to how we thought we should make more of the traditional folk songs that celebrate our connection to the earth. Both of us had been producing solo material for a while, and we thought it would be fun to explore something we both find interesting, together.

Life and the Land was conceived as a joyful celebration. We talked about making a show full of fun with songs which celebrate harvest time and the contentment found at the end of a day of hard work. We also wanted it to be reflective, a way to think about our relationship with the land and the cycles of nature today. At the time, we had no idea the project would be put on hold for a whole year while a global pandemic shut everything down - if anything, it feels even more relevant now, with the world coming back to life after a long winter. We hope you find listening to the songs as
joyful an experience as it felt to make them!
